Kingdom Revelator – Issue 24
Welcome to the latest edition of Kingdom Revelator. We hope that this magazine is helping you to understand Christian values better and is strengthening your faith. We thank the young people who have sent in articles or shared their inspiring personal testimonies with us and all who have prayed for this ministry. This month we are celebrating Pentecost Sunday, commemorating the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles and other followers of Jesus, along with His mother Mary when they were all gathered in the Upper Room praying. When the Holy Spirit descended on them, their lives were transformed. What had been fairly ordinary lives became extra-ordinary ones. They were empowered by the Holy
Spirit to begin preaching the Gospel around the world. Like a sports coach, who helps athletes to reach their full potential by instructing, encouraging and guiding them, the Holy Spirit can direct our lives. He is the Third Person of the Holy Trinity, who urges, implores, encourages, exhorts, counsels, comforts and consoles us during our journey of life. At the 23rd World Youth Day Vigil in 2008 Pope Benedict XVI described The Holy Spirit as, “The power of God giving life to all creation and the source of new and abundant life in Christ.” He added, “He guides God’s People into the fullness of truth. The Spirit is the giver of life, leading us into the very heart of God.” You’ve probably seen at sporting events anxious coaches shouting instructions, encouraging the team, sometimes comforting a player, at other times consoling them, and even interceding on a player’s behalf with the referee. In the same way, the Holy Spirit helps us on our spiritual journey. Let us invite the Holy Spirit to be the coach of our lives and He will fill us with power and courage and train us to be the best athletes for ‘Team Jesus’.
