Kingdom Revelator Australia – Issue 44
As we begin a new chapter in our lives, Kingdom Revelator would like to wish all our readers a happy and blessed 2018. It is that time again when, in anticipation of the new year ahead, we make resolutions in the hope of bringing about positive and lasting changes. I must admit, there solutions I make in January are often forgotten within a few weeks, but don’t worry there’s some good news.
In this month’s issue, we look at some important themes that help us to follow Jesus; namely, grace, saying yes to God, being in His presence, the Eucharist and more. So just a thought. As one global family, let us resolve today to follow in the footsteps of Christ this year, so that we will see those positive and lasting changes in our lives that we all hope for.
Step 1
Begin each morning with a small prayer, asking for the grace to carry out our resolution to follow Christ more closely in the coming day. Remember that feeling of disappointment at the end of January when we have failed to achieve our goal? Rely completely on God and let us say with St Paul, “I can do all things through him who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).
Step 2
Pick one area to focus on each month. This might be for example personal prayer, attendance at Mass, Bible reading, social action or the parish community.
Step 3
Keep a record of each time you do something to improve in this particular area. For example, in the month of February, you may decide to become more involved with your parish. Write down each time that you help organise or serve at an event, make an extra donation, attend a Bible study or prayer group and so on.
Step 4
Offer to God at the end of each month all that you haveaccomplished and be thankful.
