Kingdom Revelator Australia – Issue 105
Andrew was one of the people who followed Jesus when John the Baptist pointed out the Messiah to him, and said, “Here is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29). When they asked Jesus where He lives, He invites them by saying “Come and see” (John 1:39). This was an open invitation. Even today, anyone who wants to be a disciple of Christ is invited to come and experience for themselves what is the salvation that Christ is inviting them to. No one can force a person to become a believer. Each one has to experience for themselves the love of Christ in order to make that choice to become a disciple of Christ.
Andrew goes and tells his brother about what he saw and experienced and brings Peter to Jesus (John 1:41-42). Once we experience the love and freedom that Jesus Christ has to offer, we cannot keep it to ourselves. Similarly, once we experience the Lord, each one of us feels compelled to invite others to experience what we have experienced. This is the beauty of Christianity. Once we drink from this never-ending source of God’s mercy, we need to invite others to come and experience it as well. We do not know when or how the love of God will touch them, but we do know that God’s mercy and love is open to all. The more we let the people know about this open invitation, the better the chance of bringing our brothers and sisters to experience eternity with us in the Lord. Let’s spread the love of Christ.
