Kingdom Revelator Australia – Issue 59
Something that the Pope said recently touched my heart. He said in one of his homilies, “Our God has feelings. He loves us with His heart, not with His ideas. When He caresses us, He does it with His heart and when He reprimands us, He does it with the heart, He suffers more than us…It’s not sentimentalism, it’s the truth.” We Christians believe in a God who loves and guards us as the apple of His eyes. What a wonderful saviour we have! Jesus is our courage and our security.
The holy Father invites us to pray courageously to the Lord, especially during Lent. It’s a time for Christians to stop worrying about appearances and instead, just keep life simple. God’s compassion is infinite, but let us not continue living as we want. Let’s stop for a while to acknowledge our failures and stop putting make-up on our soul, because then the Lord won’t recognize us.
In this issue, we read about the importance of caring for the poor, the compassionate love of Jesus, rising above our disappointments and the extraordinary journey of a disciple. As we prepare for Easter, let’s ask the Lord for strength and go forward with humility, doing what we can. May we have the grace to be consistent, not to be vain, and not to want to appear more worthy than we are.
