Kingdom Revelator Australia – Issue 85
Lent is a season of hope. It reminds us that after every Good Friday there will be an Easter Sunday in our lives. The door to salvation remains open no matter where we stand in life. Romans 5:8 tells us, “God proves his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.” No matter how big
a sinner we are, if we repent and turn back, our Father in heaven will receive us back. The story of the prodigal son reminds us that we have a loving father who awaits our return. When we realise that we have a made a mistake, desire to make amends, then when we turn back to God, we are offered another
chance. “The Lord is good to all, and his compassion is over all that he has made” (Psalm 145:9).
Every lent we desire to become a better person but somehow, we stumble on the way and fail in our resolutions. Each lent offers us a chance to desire for a transfiguration that will change us spiritually and mentally. “God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him” (John 3:17).
Today the world is a broken place with third world war looming on the horizon. The vulnerable and innocent lives that are lost, and the thousands who are made homeless due to war, tears at our heart to pray for a better world. If each one of us takes this lent as a call from our creator to discard our sinful ways
and mend our life, then I’m sure we can make this world a better place to live in. Let us put our trust in the Lord in these uncertain times, and remind ourselves of what the Lord speaks to us in Deuteronomy 31:6 -“Be strong and bold; have no fear or dread of them, because it is the Lord your God who goes with
you; he will not fail you or forsake you”.
