Kingdom Revelator Australia – Issue 87
The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love” (Psalm 103:8). When the woman caught in adultery was brought to Jesus, He neither condemned nor rejected her. She didn’t deny her sins in front of the Lord nor did the crowd admit that they had committed any. The crowd could only condemn and destroy her, but the Lord restored her. Here Jesus’ master stroke was “Let anyone among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her” (John 8:7).
Jesus treated her with dignity and compassion, even though she was caught in the very act of committing adultery, forgave her sin and sent her off to start a brand-new life. The Lord treated her sin with total honesty; that’s why He sent her away telling her to go and sin no more. Jesus treats the sinner with great compassion while making no compromise with sin. He imparts grace and hope in hopeless situations. When we turn to the Lord in our weakness and sinfulness, remember that our God is a merciful father who awaits our return with open arms.
In today’s world instead of bringing a message of condemnation, let’s share a message of salvation with those we encounter in our life’s journey. Each one is fighting their own battle, so let us share the Good News about Jesus and walk on the path of salvation with them. “If the Son makes you free, you will be
free indeed” (John 8.36).
