Kingdom Revelator Australia – Issue 97
It has been said that the devil knows your name, but calls you by your sins; God however, knows your sin, but calls you by your name. God sent His only Son to save us from our sins becausen we are loved and cherished by our creator God – “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life” (John 3:16). Often, we are weighed down by our past sins, and Satan calls us names based on these sins. When we identify who we are by the sins we have committed, we become depressed, feel worthless, helpless, and lose hope in the mercy of God. But our identity is not defined by our sins. When we repent, God forgives us, andhence we need to learn to forgive ourselves and love ourselves as God loves us.
No matter how big a sinner we are, we ought to remind ourselves that we have a loving and merciful Father in heavens who does not withhold anything against us in order to redeem us. For our salvation, God paid a heavy price; yes, we have been bought for a price!Matthew 11:28-30 reminds us, “Come to me, all you who are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” We are God’s beloved children, brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ. Our God calls us His child and brings us home! “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name: you are mine” (Isaiah 43:1).
