Kingdom Revelator – Issue 21
Welcome to the latest edition of Kingdom Revelator. This month we start the Season of Lent, one of the most important times in the Church’s year, so we have included a feature giving you some facts that you may not know about Lent and Easter. We have also included details of a project called Drops of Mercy that has been organised by the Kingdom Revelator editorial team in the UK as a response to the Year of Mercy. We would love to hear how other groups are taking up the challenge given to us by Pope Francis to show God’s love to those in need. February 14th is an important date for many young people when they celebrate St Valentine’s Day by sending a card or giving a present to their loved ones. We looked for information about St Valentine to include in an article this month but we have found that, although there are lots of stories and a few possible names for this Saint,
nothing is known for certain about him. The Catholic Church dropped St Valentine’s Day from its offi cial calendar of Saints in 1969 but many people still continue the custom of celebrating it. We have been asked recently about the meaning of the magazine’s name – Kingdom Revelator. The Revelator is another name for the Holy Spirit who reveals to us the presence and the love of God in our lives. After much deliberation and prayer, we chose the name because we felt that the Holy Spirit wanted to use the magazine to reveal the Wisdom of the Kingdom of God to young people. We pray that when you read this issue, you will open your heart to the Holy Spirit, who will guide you into the Truth and reveal God’s love to you.
